5:15 Happy Hour Sobriety Prayer Book

The third step to Alcoholics Anonymous sates that you, the alcoholic, must make a decision to turn your will over to God as you understand Him. The eleventh step is to seek through prayer and meditation to improve your conscious contact with God as you understand God, praying only for knowledge of God’s will for us and the power to carry that out.

I don’t understand God.

AA, though, doesn’t discern whether you worship a traditional god of a major religion or if you acknowledge your own personal god, as long as you acknowledge that there is a higher power, and that you are not the higher power.  Since the God that everyone else prays to seems preoccupied or busy, I have decided to pray to the lesser gods; the gods that the Greeks and Romans forgot about, the gods that prophets overlooked.  The selections below are part of a larger collection of prayers.  This is a prayerbook in progress.  My hope is to write over 50 prayers.

If you have a god you would like me to write a prayer for, feel free to let me know.  Feedback is encouraged.
